really lovely venue...decor is amazing but the food was also in a class of its own...well presented sushi and nigiri which tasted fresh. the lamb was cooked to perfection and the duck breast was also good, nice bottle of red wine washed it all down. coffee and a chocolate fondant for afters and then we went to the bar and had a few cocktails we opted for 2 cherry porn star martins no fresh cherries but they are a bit out of season in January so it looked like it was made with tinned cherries as it was a bit sweet but still looked and tasted very good and was served with a shot of champers on the side.. good vibe in the bar lots of male and female eye candy and the music was also excellent.

I booked a table for two at Ithaca last Friday on the recommenation of my son who said he knew the new manager so my expectations were high!

We were met by a lovely host and shown to our table, first impressions were, as my son would say, it is very bling but good bling, more Rolls Royce rather than Ferrari.

The attention to detail and the decor is stunning and very modern. The manager came over and introduced himself and chatted to us about the menu and offered to take us and show us the cocktail bar after dinner, probably where my son hangs around !

He suggested a nice wine and it didnt cost the earth but also said the Wagyu Beef was amazing and also recommended the soft shell crab, the black cod, the sea bass and the lamb.

We had a sushi platter which was well presented, tasty and authentic. I was also impressed by the manager's presence in the restaurant I wasnt getting any special treatment because he knew my son as I saw him getting involved with all the guests. Our waiter was also excellent.

In my opinion, Japanese cuisine stands out from any other because of its lightness and highly sophisticated taste.

This is achieved at a superlative level at Ithaca by a very authentic looking mini sumo chef with a Jananeese headband!

Main course I opted for the Chilean Sea Bass. Fresh, light, dellicate, melt in the mouth and very moorish. The simple rice and pak choi veg dish on the side was all it needed and this didnt over complicate or ditract from a perfect dish.

The Black Cod is a signature dish and I can see why. Perfectly cooked, well presented and a good portion of fish in a very sweet and tangy miso sauce.

We did go up to the bar and the atmosphere was lively and sophisticated, but not stiff in any way. A good mix of people, the music was not my cup of tea but at 50 I am probably showing my age.

The cocktails were excellent, the young lady behin

Wow ITHACA is the best place to eat and drink and party in Manchester..

The food is simply mouth watering. I had the black cod and a selection of sushi and spider crab and sea bass...fantastic...

Then we went to the upstairs bar where we had some great cocktails including a pornstar martini that was lush.

The atmosphere was electric and I understand that previous VIP guests have included the likes of Jay Z Kanye West and Posh Spice !

I can see why. The place is beautiful and the staff are great. The music was wickid too and the atmosphere was super friendly.

The DJs were two blokes called Justin Fry and DJ Akay and their tunes were perfect. What can I say we came down from Liverpool and we all loved it and we will be back for more...

Price wise it was not a shock, the cocktails were around £8 we got a bottle of champers for £45 and the food was about £30 a head great value.

We were lucky enough to meet the owner, Arnie Hira and he showed us round and made us feel at home. Just what Manchester needs 10/10 all round .

This place is simply magnificent! Its pretty new meaning that it looks beautiful and has that air of excitement and moderness about it still. When I went there I had the braised quail to begin with before the chilean sea bass for a main. Both were cooked to perfection and most definitely hit the spot. However, there's more! The cocktails on offer have to be seen to be believed, the list is literally endless! I had one called Mr Myagui's Mule which was fantastic, but theres literally something for everyone! The staff were all really helpful and clued up ready to give advice if your a little nervous about trying some of the different items on the menu! Definitely worth the five star rating all the way!
