What can I say about The Nook. Its `thee` place to be if your looking for a bar in Chorlton or even South Manchester.

A great mix of friendly people, music that aims to suit every taste and a lively and attentive staff setup.

These guys have got it right, part owned as a partnership with their leading lady (ex manager of next door) seemingly running the place single handedly, keeps the regulars regular and the new punters coming back for more.

Not what you would expect from Chorlton, a place which renowned for its cliquey circles, the management here have somehow managed a lively blend of all types.

And the beer, they have a great selection of guest ales, Cruzcampo at the moment on draught and a constantly rotating`special spirit board` to tickle your throats in between pints.

For the ladies there is a really fruity house wine selection as well as that great back laid atmosphere you would expect in Chorlton.

For the sake of being objective, it is not a large bar unlike its neighbours although this just adds to its pull and great vibe.

A 30 second walk to the shops, a two minute walk to fantastic fish and chips, opposite a direct bus route to the city centre.

So whether its a pre club drink, an all day session or a swift pint on you way home from work, The Nook has it all!

Carefully-sourced beverages, a laid-back atmosphere, good company, and a great theme tune are the successful ingredients to a brilliant night out, and I found all these down at the Nook in Chorlton.

Different nights have different themes and there is enough local talent and established acts for every ear, and suitable drinks for every palate.

You need to get down early for a comfy chair though, but weather-permitting there are plenty outside.

Great little bar crawl as well with abode and the bar adjacent to it, not to mention proof and even weatherspoons within easy walking distance. Sunday Guest is recommended.

The Nook is an ideal pre-club venue in my experience! Also its great fro a chilled out sudnay or monday evening. The beers are good, top notch spirits and the music selection is second to none. One downer may be the size but then again it always seems full! Get their early to book a seat and you can make a nigth of it without moving!

buzzing to see Sagres on draft at The Nook, also excellent DJ action from the likes of Bane and Jon K of late. Happy days. - Report

My favourite in the mass of Chorlton bars at the moment. The decoration of the upstairs is nice and relaxed plus a downstairs room called Cranny is great for end of night fun but is a bizzare mix of modern and moroccan!
Both places either side compliment it well and always seem to be busy so you can almost bar hop your way through the night. A great Manchester addition overall.

The Nook is quality! Have been a regular since it first opened and have made so many new friends just from drinking in there. It attracts a slightly older crowd (25 and over mainly), unlike its neighbour Abode, which seems to be turning into a youth club. Okay if you're 17 but not if you're 31!
The three owners (two brothers and the girl who used to manage Abode) all work there full time and this is definately a good move, they put their heart and soul into the business and seem to have a great rapport with their staff and customers which adds to the laid back, friendly atmosphere.
The selection of beer, cider and spirits is very good and they pour a mean pint!
