Just had our 1st visit after reading about it in the Lancashire Life. Lived up to and exceeded my expectations. Wonderful food and excellent staff. Had prawn cocktail, shin beef pie and parkin pudding. Delicious beyond delicious!

Great food, excellent beer, friendly staff, and lovely clientele, an all round amazing experience.
I came across the Eagle & Child by surprise between Christmas and New Year, when pubs are usually very quiet, and to my delight, I stumbled across a "Christmas Jumper Party"! I spent quite a few hours in there, and had not one, but two excellent meals whilst there, along with quite a few beers!
I had such a good time, that I was then lucky enough to secure some of the last few tickets for New Years Eve, which was a brilliant night! The Cheese & Onion pie has got to be the best I've ever tasted! And the Haggis treat at midnight along with the bagpipe player... Great idea!
I shall endeavour to visit now whenever I am in the area!

I spent Christmas at the Eagle and Child and was a bit apprehensive at first about spending Christmas Day in a pub but I had the best time! We were made to feel very welcome, had a luxurious Christmas dinner and the atmosphere, as always, was superb. Glen has done an excellent job!

I have to the Eagle and Child on a few occasions and each time has been excellent. At a birthday meal, we were made to feel very special and I cannot say enough about their delicious sticky parkin pudding! Over Christmas I had butter pie, which was on special, it was without a doubt the best pie I had ever had, simply gorgeous!. Great atmosphere and attentive staff.

I recently went to the eagle and Child for a birthday meal and i had a fantastic night. The staff were excellent and really looked after us. The food was great and I found it hard to choose as they all sounded delicious. I went for the burger and wasn't disappointed! Went back again soon afterwards for another special occassion and couldn't fault it! highly recommend

This pub has recently reopened, I have eaten there the last three weeks on the run. Brilliant food and great service. Try the black pudding scotch egg and the shin of beef and oxtail pie. Brill.
