New Years Eve At Manchester Clubs

Posted by: Mark O'Donnell 28/11/2008 @ 12:14
Subject: Clubs

Some of my most memorable nights out have been on New Years Eve at Manchester clubs. Industry, The Music Box, One Central Street, Revolution on Deansgate Locks, The Warehouse Project, Po Na Na, even the Footage and Firkin (don’t worry, I wasn’t dancing on the tables). …

Massive Attack Headline Becks Fusions Event

Posted by: Mark O'Donnell 01/08/2008 @ 15:03
Subject: Clubs

Is September the new August? Well hang on a minute, there may be some truth in this. For one: Becks Fusions are hosting a free weekend of music and art in Castlefield on the 4th-6th September. In doing so they’re going some way to plugging the void left by the much missed D: Percussion (this traditionally took place in August, see what I mean?). Secondly, in recent years the weather in September has been some of the best of a miserable summer. So yeah, like it or not, September may well be the new August.

If you’re still bemoaning the fact that D:Percussion didn’t take place this year, then this event may well be what you’re looking for. Fresh from smacking it at the …

Warehouse Project Tickets On Sale Now!

Posted by: Mark O'Donnell 01/08/2008 @ 11:30
Subject: Clubs

The good news for Manchester is that The Warehouse Project tickets are now on sale for the next phase of their already legendary events. Once again the promoters are using the Store Street space (underneath Piccadilly train station) to bring some of the biggest names in the music industry to Manchester. This will be the last turn for this particular site as its getting turned into – yes, you guessed it – another city centre hotel. Where The Warehouse Project will turn up next? We’re not sure, but one thing is for sure: they will be back.

Some of my most memorable …

Posted by: Mark O'Donnell 08/07/2008 @ 16:40
Subject: Clubs

This summer in Manchester, music lovers no longer have the free (okay, there was a token couple of quid donation) outdoor D:Percussion festival to party at (boo, hiss!) and clubs like The Warehouse Project have retreated into seasonal slumber before exploding into life for the student melee in September.

However, all is not lost as there are still events to uphold Manchester’s reputation as one of the most exciting places for nocturnal thrills and spills. Take the San Miguel Hidden Depths event on Thursday 10th July, for example. Hosted by none other than electro punk funk stars, The Glimmers, this event also features a guest appearance from a true …

Video Interview: The Guillemots

Posted by: Kelly Hussey 12/06/2008 @ 14:54
Subject: Clubs

The British music industry has never been better – you only have to take one look at such awards as the NME and the Brits to see the huge range of talent out there at the moment. And we’re not talking about poxy reality TV shows, either – um, Chanelle what were you thinking?

One of the hottest rated bands to come out of Britain to date is The Guillemots (sorry, I mean gUiLLeMoTs). A personal favourite of mine, they’ve gone from strength to strength since they formed in late 2004. With a plethora of hits, including Trains to Brazil, which was an Itunes Single of the Week, celebrity fans that include Sir Paul McCartney, and a Brit nomination under their belt the future looks very rosy indeed for this talented band.

We at View were lucky …
